Rockhurst rallies for 62-52 win over Bellarmine

Madeline Ronshausen scored seven of her game-high 20 points in the final five minutes to rally Rockhurst to a 62-52 victory over Bellarmine Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks ended the game on an 18-5 run to overcome a 47-44 deficit with 5:24 left in the contest. Rockhurst canned four-of-six field goals and made nine-of-10 free throws down the stretch to give the Hawks their first win over Bellarmine since January of 2012.

Ronshausen put the Hawks in front for good at 49-47 with a 3-pointer at the 4:37 mark. She added a layup and two free throws to give the Hawks a nine-point lead with 2:19 left.

The junior guard from St. Louis connected on seven of 13 field goals, including four of five from behind the 3-point line. She also had three rebounds and two assists.

Rachel Holden posted eight points and seven rebounds. Hailey Dolphin tallied seven points and five rebounds. Briahtia Sebek, Lauren Krissman and Reagan Dodd combined for 18 points on six-of-11 shooting while coming off the bench. Meghan Urbanski added three assists and two steals.

Rockhurst (6-9, 2-5 GLVC) outrebounded the Knights, 35-28. The Hawks also won the bench points, 28-19. Mallory Schwartz led Bellarmine (8-7, 2-5 GLVC) with 18 points.
