Hawks hope to get back into win column against William Jewell

The Rockhurst women's basketball team (5-7, 1-3 GLVC) takes on the Cardinals of William Jewell (7-5, 1-3 GLVC) Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Mason-Halpin Field House. Both teams come into Saturday's game looking for a spark, attempting to climb into the middle of the pack in the conference standings.

The Hawks are seeking their first win of the new year after falling to Missouri S&T (77-75) and Drury (62-41) last week. Madeline Ronshausen continues to pace the Hawks offensively, averaging 16.6 points per game (fourth best in the GLVC). Marisa Lowe (11.5 pg) has shot the ball well since returning to the lineup. Ronshausen and Lowe, along with Lauren Krissman (52.2 percent from three) and Briahtia Sebek (40.0 percent) have combined to form one of the most efficient three-point attacks in the conference, as Rockhurst ranks second in the GLVC with a team percentage of 38.3 percent from beyond the arc.

William Jewell enters the game with momentum after a 78-63 win over Missouri S&T in their previous contest. The Cardinals are balanced offensively, led by Antoinette Mussorici (11.8 pg), Kiara Bradley (10.5 pg), Sydney Offield (9.8 pg) and Kayla Harrell (9.3 pg).

Something has to give when the Hawks' long range attack meets Jewell's stout defense, allowing just 60.3 points per game (third best in the GLVC).
