Weekend Preview: Eighth-ranked Hawks hit the road to start conference play

The eighth-ranked Rockhurst volleyball team (8-1) travels to Missouri S&T (7-2) on Friday (Sept. 7) for a 7 p.m. conference opener with the Miners. The Hawks continue their GLVC schedule on Saturday, visiting 22nd-ranked Drury (6-2) at 3 p.m.

The Hawks will look to continue building momentum after winning back-to-back matches over Northwest Missouri State and Pittsburg State. Outside hitters Alyssa Woodman and Karli Reichert have combined for 235 kills in the Hawks' first nine matches.

Men's Soccer takes on Rogers State
The Hawks (1-1-0) travel to Claremore, Oklahoma to face the Rogers State Hillcats (1-1-0) at 7 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 8). Rockhurst defeated Lindenwood 1-0 on a goal by Filippo Santandrea last Tuesday and will look to bring that same defensive focus with them to the Sooner state.

Women's soccer travels to Memphis
The Hawks (1-1-1) visit Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee for a pair of weekend matches. Rockhurst takes on Mississippi College (1-1-0) at 5 p.m. Friday (Sept. 7). The Hawks then face Christian Brothers (1-0-1) at 1:30 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 9). Junior Stephanie Ostrander leads the Hawks with two goals in their first three matches.

Men's and women's tennis kickoff their season
The two Rockhurst tennis teams host Kansas Wesleyan at 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 8) in their first matches of the year.

Women's golf opens with road tournament
The Hawks have their first action of the season, traveling to Evansville for the Southern Indiana Screaming Eagle Golf Classic on Sunday (Sept. 9).

Cross Country Races up to Atchison
Rockhurst Cross Country is back in action after the Hawks' third place finish last weekend at Baker. They head to Benedictine for the Rocky Raven Invite at 9:15 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 8).
