Rockhurst rallies for 3-2 win over Northwest Missouri

The Rockhurst Hawks rallied to capture the last two sets for a 3-2 victory over Northwest Missouri State (21-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-16, 15-5) in the final match of the Rockhurst Classic Saturday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Alyssa Woodman posted 18 kills and 13 digs to lead the sixth-ranked Hawks to their seventh win of the season. Karli Reichert collected 15 kills with a .423 hitting percentage. Audrey Arand and Mary Rolf combined for 12 kills.

Dani Prusha finished with 39 assists. Kalie Arnold collected a team-high 19 digs.

Set One: Northwest Missouri 25, Rockhurst 22
The Bearcats went on a 7-0 run to take a 16-9 lead. Northwest had 17 kills and hit .433 in the opening set.

Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Northwest Missouri 21
The Hawks closed the set on a 7-1 run to even the match. Woodman and Reichert combined for nine kills.

Set Three: Northwest Missouri 25, Rockhurst 16
Northwest got out to a 7-1 lead and closed the set on a 7-3 run. The Bearcats hit .280 in the set.

Set Four: Rockhurst 25, Northwest Missouri 16
The Hawks grabbed a 15-9 lead after going on a 7-0 run. The Hawks only made three hitting errors with a .333 hitting percentage.

Set Five: Rockhurst 15, Northwest Missouri 5
The Hawks jumped out to an 11-1 lead. Emily Matio had three of the Hawks' five kills in the decisive fifth set.

Player of the Match
Alyssa Woodman. The junior outside hitter was named to the All-Tournament team after leading the Hawks with 18 kills. She had 11 kills in the first two sets and had two kills in the fifth set.
