Rockhurst posts 4-0 record in Lady Buff Classic

The Rockhurst volleyball team wrapped up play in the Lady Buff Classic with four straight wins after rallying for a 3-1 victory over Eastern New Mexico in the Lady Buff Classic (22-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18) Saturday in Canyon, Texas.

Alyssa Woodman finished with 18 kills and nine digs to lead the 10th-ranked Hawks to their fourth win in two days. Emily Matio, Karli Reichert and Audrey Arand each collected eight kills. Emma Kriete added six kills and six digs.

Senior libero Kalie Arnold led the Hawks with 10 digs. Dani Prusha tallied 22 assists. Gabbie Inman added 17 assists and six digs.

"We finally got it going after getting off to a slow start. I thought we blocked well. We need to get sharper on defense. We can't complain with a 4-0 record," said Rockhurst coach Tracy Rietzke.

Set One: Eastern New Mexico 25, Rockhurst 22
The Greyhounds scored the last three points of the set to cap an 11-7 run in overcoming a 15-14 deficit. The Hawks were held to a .186 hitting percentage.


Set Two: Rockhurst 25, Eastern New Mexico 21
The Hawks rallied from an 18-17 deficit to the match at 1-1. Reichert and Woodman combined for seven kills. Eastern New Mexico made 11 hitting errors.

Set Three: Rockhurst 25, Eastern New Mexico 15
Rockhurst used an 11-3 run to break away from a 14-12 lead. Woodman and Riechert combined for nine kills.

Set Four: Rockhurst 25, Eastern New Mexico 18
The Hawks closed out the match on a 9-4 run. The Hawks only made three hitting errors with a .231 hitting percentage.

Player of the Match
Alyssa Woodman. The junior from Omaha, Nebraska collected a season-high 18 kills. She had six kills in both the first and third sets. She also had nine digs, four blocks and two service aces.
