Hawks hold off Indianapolis rally to post 12-8 victory

Box Score Kai Trujillo scored two of his team-high four goals in the final six minutes to lead 20th-ranked Rockhurst to a 12-8 victory over Indianapolis Saturday at RU's Bourke Field.

Trujillo gave the Hawks a 10-8 lead with 5:25 left in the game and scored again two minutes later to put Rockhurst in front by three goals.

Rockhurst scored five unanswered goals in the second period to take a 7-2 lead into halftime. The Greyhounds went on a 6-2 run in the second half to cut the Hawks' lead to 9-8.

Sam Lindahl and Collin Fischer each scored three points on two goals and one assist. Collin Fischer tallied one goal and one assist. Jake Martin added one goal and two assists.

Indianapolis outshot Rockhurst, 43-41. Lindahl led the Hawks with nine shots, Trujillo and Fischer added six shots apiece.
Zach Bodeau and Sal Valdivia each won six faceoffs and picked up four ground balls. Alex Pfeil collected 17 saves.

The Hawks (14-2) await the pairings in the RMAC Tournament in early May.
