Hawks upset 10th-ranked Mercyhurst, 12-8

Jake Martin led the Hawks with three goals and two assists.

Box Score Rockhurst scored the last five goals of the game to rally for a 12-8 victory over 10th-ranked Mercyhurst Friday in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The Hawks tied the score at 8-8 on a goal by Collin Fischer with 8:48 left in the game. Sam Lindahl scored two goals over the next two and a half minutes to give Rockhurst a 10-8 lead. Michael Beckham and Jake Martin added man-up goals to ice the victory.

Martin led the Hawks with five points on three goals and two assists. Lindahl tallied two goals and two assists. Fischer and Martin each scored three goals. Kai Trujillo added four assists.

Both teams finished with 37 shots. Fischer and Martin led the Hawks with eight shots apiece. Michael Beckham added seven shots.

Zach Bodeau won 12 of 14 faceoffs and posted eight ground balls. Sal Valdivia had seven faceoff wins and three ground balls. Alex Pfeil collected eight saves and five ground balls.

The Hawks (11-1) play at Lindenwood on Friday, April 6.
