Balanced attack leads Hawks to 18-10 victory

Sal Valdivia won 20 of 27 faceoffs and had a team-high 14 ground balls.

Box Score Twelve players found the scoring column to power Rockhurst to an 18-10 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game Friday night at RU's Bourke Field.

Rockhurst ended the first half on a 5-0 run to take a 7-2 halftime lead. The Hawks opened the fourth period on a 6-2 run to grab a 16-6 lead with 5:14 left in the game.

Michael Beckham paced the Hawks with two goals and two assists. Kai Trujillo scored three goals. Oliver Byers posted two goals and one assist. Collin Fischer and Tyler Sekarski added two goals each.

Rockhurst outshot Pueblo, 73-25. Drake O'Neill and Trujillo led the Hawks with 10 shots apiece. Sam Lindahl and Fischer each collected seven shots.

Sal Valdivia won 20 of 27 faceoffs and had a team-high 14 ground balls. Lindahl collected six ground balls. Alex Pfeil posted eight saves.

The Hawks (9-1, 4-1 RMAC) host Adams State on Sunday.
