Hawks cruise to 24-4 win over Benedictine

Box Score Rockhurst survived a wind chill of 13 degrees to post a 24-4 victory over the Benedictine Ravens Friday night at Bourke Field.

The Hawks jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first period and took a 15-1 lead into halftime. Rockhurst outscored the Ravens 9-3 in the second half.

Jake Hardin led the Hawks with four goals. Drake O'Neill and Nick Schveninger each collected four points on two goals and two assists. Kai Trujillo, Sam Lindahl, Collin Fischer and Oliver Byers tallied two goals apiece.

Rockhurst outshot Benedictine, 62-18. Hardin led the Hawks with 12 shots. Trujillo and Michael Beckham combined for 11 shots.

Zach Bodeau and Sal Valdivia each won 13 faceoffs and posted a team-high 11 ground balls. Alex Pfeil, Spencer Bright and Patrick Fitzsimmons combined for five saves.

The Hawks (2-0) play at Maryville on Saturday, Feb. 17.
