Box Score Bellarmine broke open a close game in the fourth period to pull away for a 68-53 victory over Rockhurst Thursday night at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.
The Knights went on a 10-2 run early in the fourth period to take a 49-40 lead. The Hawks rallied to get within five points before Bellarmine went on a 9-2Â run to grab a 12-point lead in the closing minutes.
Jillian Myers led the Hawks with 18 points, eight rebounds, five steals, three assists and two blocks. Madeline Ronshausen posted 15 points, five assists and four rebounds. Briahtia Sebek scored nine points and Kaci German collected eight rebounds.
Rockhurst shot 32.8 percent from the field (20 of 61). Bellarmine made 22 of 60 shots for a 36.7 percent field goal percentage. The Hawks won the rebound battle, 45-37.
The Hawks (10-13, 6-9 GLVC) fell one spot to eighth place in the GLVC Point Rating System (PRS). The top eight teams in the PRS will qualify for the GLVC Tournament in early March in Edwardsville, Illinois.
