Rockhurst dropped its conference opener at Truman State Thursday night by a score of 73-56.

Junior forward Mary Leigh Rock led the Hawks with 10 points, including 2-for-4 from three point range and 2-for-2 from the free throw line. Marisa Lowe scored nine points on 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Madeline Ronshausen added nine points as well. Tracy Monahan scored seven points and pulled in a team-high six rebounds. Rachel Holden matched her season average of six points and five rebounds. Freshman guard Hailey Dolphin chipped in six points in nine minutes.

The first half was tight throughout. The score was knotted up at 18 at the end of the first quarter, and the Bulldogs took a slim 28-25 lead into halftime.

Truman State opened the second half on a 12-0 run to go up 40-25, and maintained that 15-point margin heading into the fourth quarter. A Marisa Lowe three-pointer cut the Bulldogs' lead to 10 at 63-53 with 4:23 remaining, but that's as close as the Hawks would get.
