Hawks cruise to victory over Saint Mary behind balanced attack

The Rockhurst Hawks defeated Saint Mary 92-56 Saturday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.
 
Briahtia Sebek led the Hawks in scoring with 15 points. Madeline Ronshausen added 14 points. 
 
Mary Leigh Rock chipped in eight points on a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor, while also dishing out a team-high four assists and tying for the lead in rebounds with four.
 
Rockhurst set the tone at both ends, opening up a 33-7 lead early in the second quarter, highlighted by a 20-0 run.
 
Saint Mary pulled back within 14 at 43-29 early in the third quarter, but the Hawks responded with eight unanswered points to stretch the lead back up to 22.
 
A strong second half by the home team saw the lead grow as large as 38 points en route to a 92-56 victory.
 
Player of the Game: Briahtia Sebek. The sharp-shooting senior from Lincoln, Nebraska poured in 15 points on an efficient 4-for-6 from the field, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc and 4-for-4 from the foul line. Sebek also recorded three steals and pulled down three rebounds.
