Box Score Indianapolis made nine free throws in the final seven-plus minutes and scored a go-ahead layup with 32 seconds left to edge Rockhurst 66-64 Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.
The Hawks, who led for 29 minutes, grabbed a 52-46 lead on a jumper by Jillian Myers with 8:55 left in the game. Indianapolis went on a 14-4 run to take a 60-56 lead with 2:42 left.
Madeline Ronshausen tied the game at 63-all on a 3-pointer with 52 seconds left. Indy's Martha Burse, who led the Greyhounds with 20 points, hit the game-winning layup with 32 seconds left. Rockhurst freshman Katelyn Parkey missed a 3-pointer with four seconds left.
Myers led Rockhurst with 14 points and four assists. Briahtia Sebek scored 12 points on four 3-pointers. Ronshausen collected 11 points behind three 3-pointers. Kaci German added eight points and seven rebounds. Rachel Holden tallied six points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Rockhurst shot 42.3 percent from the field, while the Greyhounds finished with a 46.0 percent field goal percentage.
The Hawks (6-7, 2-3 GLVC) play at William Jewell on Thursday.
