Box Score Curtis Lewis scored 20 of his game-high 25 points in the second half to help rally Rockhurst to a 94-69 victory over Missouri S&T Saturday in Rolla, Missouri.
Trailing 55-50 early in the second half, the Hawks went on a 28-4 run to grab a 78-59 lead with 7:18 left in the game. Rockhurst canned six three-point field goals in the eight-minute run.
"We had a great second half today,"Â said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "We weren't good enough on that end in the first half, but made a lot of stops in the second half to pull away."
Rockhurst outscored the Miners 51-19 in the second half after being outscored 50-43 in the first half. The Hawks drilled 10 of 18 three-pointers in the final 20 minutes.
"I was really happy with our assist/turnover ratio. We have stressed that in practice,"Â added Diener. "We really needed this one. We showed good guts after going into the locker room down seven at the half."
Lewis exceeded 20 points for the eighth time this season, in addition to posting a season-high 10 assists and seven rebounds. Quinton Curry collected 15 points and seven rebounds. Travis House scored 15 points on five three-pointers.
Undra Wilson tallied 13 points and five rebounds. Eddie Muench added 12 points and five assists. Connor Evans finished with a team-high nine rebounds.
Rockhurst shot 51.6 percent from the field (33 of 64) and 48.5 percent from the 3-point line (16 of 33). S&T made 23 of 57 field goals (40.4 percent) and 11 of 31 3-pointers (35.5 percent).
The Hawks (10-10, 4-7 GLVC) host Haskell Tuesday night.
