Hawks down Kentucky State after falling to Lewis

Karli Reichert led the Hawks with 12 kills against Kentucky State.

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Rockhurst rebounded from a 3-0 loss to third-ranked Lewis to post a 3-0 victory over Kentucky State Saturday in Romeoville, Illinois.

Karli Reichert led the 25th-ranked Hawks to 25-11, 25-9 and 25-12 set wins over Kentucky State. The sophomore outside hitter posted 12 kills with a .611 hitting percentage.

Emily Matio tallied eight kills and a .538 hitting percentage. Alyssa Woodman collected seven kills and eight digs. Grace Carter produced 25 assists and eight digs. Anne Hellwege had a team-high 14 digs.

Rockhurst posted a .407 hitting percentage, while Kentucky State hit .013.

Earlier in the day, Lewis defeated the Hawks in three sets, 25-17, 25-23 and 25-15.

Carter paced the Hawks with seven kills and 19 assists. Woodman and Reichert combined on 14 kills and 10 digs. Hellwege finished with 18 digs.

Lewis hit .343 and held Rockhurst to a .127 hitting percentage.

The Hawks (8-3, 1-1 GLVC) host Lindenwood in their home opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
