Hawks post 11-8 victory over Adams State

Joe Burbach led the Hawks with seven ground balls.

Box Score Jake Martin scored three unanswered goals in the second period to lead Rockhurst to an 11-8 victory over Adams State Sunday at Bourke Field.

The Hawks grabbed a 5-1 halftime lead behind Martin's goals. Peter Hummel, Martin and Drake O'Neill scored goals in the third period to give Rockhurst an 8-2 lead. Adams State scored three goals in the final five minutes to cut into the Hawks' lead.

Martin led the Hawks with four goals and one assists. Luke VanOverbeke posted four assists and one goal. Sean Conway tallied two goals and one assist.

Rockhurst outshot Adams State, 40-38. Martin, Luke VanOverbeke and Grant VanOverbeke led the Hawks with eight shots apiece. Michael Beckham added five shots.

Ian Meister won five-of-13 faceoffs. Joe Burbach picked up seven ground balls. Jamison Boggio posted nine saves.

The Hawks (11-3, 6-3 RMAC) host Lindenwood on Thursday (April 13).
