Hawks end regular season with 17-8 victory

Box Score Rockhurst capped the regular season on Senior Day with a 17-8 victory over Maryville Saturday at Bourke Field.

The Hawks scored the first five goals of the game and led 9-4 at halftime. Rockhurst pulled away in the second half after scoring five unanswered goals.

Luke VanOverbeke and Kai Trujillo led the Hawks with six points apiece. VanOverbeke posted five goals and one assist. Trujillo tallied four goals and two assists. Jake Martin added two goals and one assist.

Rockhurst outshot Maryville, 41-27. VanOverbeke led the Hawks with 10 shots. Martin added seven shots.

Ian Meister won six-of-13 faceoffs. Connor Bateman and Connor Hill combined for 14 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Spencer Bright posted four saves in the second half.

The Hawks (12-4, 7-3 RMAC) will next play in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament on May 5.
