Second-half run carries Hawks to 12-4 win at Maryville

Box Score Rockhurst scored eight unanswered goals in the second half to post a 12-4 victory over Maryville Saturday in St. Louis, Mo.

Maryville scored three goals in the second period to tie the score at halftime, 4-4. Grant VanOverbeke put the Hawks in front for good with a goal less than four minutes into the second half. Rockhurst outscored the Saints 6-0 in the fourth period.

Nick Schveninger came off the bench to score a team-high three goals. Christian Schveninger and Collin Fischer each posted two goals. Jake Martin, Drake O'Neill and Grant VanOverbeke added three points apiece on one goal and one assist.

Rockhurst (9-3, 5-3 RMAC) outshot Maryville, 52-20. Christian Schveninger and Sean Conway led the Hawks with eight shots apiece. Aaron Horvat added seven shots.

Ian Meister won 13-of-18 faceoffs and picked up five ground balls. Spencer Bright and Jamison Boggio combined for six saves.
