Hawks suffer 13-7 loss at Colorado Mesa

Grant VanOverbeke led the Hawks with four points.
Box Score Colorado Mesa scored the first five goals of the game on the way to a 13-7 victory over Rockhurst Tuesday night in Grand Junction, Colo.

The Hawks (5-2, 1-2 RMAC) closed the first half on a 4-2 run to cut Mesa's lead to 7-3 at halftime. Mesa ended the game on a 3-0 run after Rockhurst pulled within 10-7 with 5:53 left to play.

Grant VanOverbeke led the Hawks with four points on one goal and three assists. Michael Beckham and Luke VanOverbeke both scored two goals. Aaron Horvat and Drake O'Neill also scored goals.

Mesa outshot Rockhurst 39-27. Beckham paced the Hawks with five shots. Grant VanOverbeke and Luke VanOverbeke added four shots each.

Zach Bodeau won 14-of-23 faceoffs and collected five ground balls. Spencer Bright posted 12 saves.
