Box Score Rockhurst dropped its first conference game of the season, falling to Illinois Springfield 68-63 Thursday night in Springfield, Illinois.
The Hawks opened the second half on an 8-2 run to take a 39-33 lead. The Prairie Stars then went on a 17-6 run to take a 50-45 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Rockhurst cut Springfield's lead to three, 61-58, with 1:28 left before the Prairie Stars scored five unanswered points to take an eight-point lead with 29 seconds left.
Jillian Myers led the Hawks with 15 points, four assists, three blocked shots and three steals. Madeline Ronshausen posted 14 points and three assists. Lauren Krissman scored 11 points on five-of-eight shooting.
Briahtia Sebek added eight points and Mary Leigh Rock grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
The Hawks (6-3, 2-1 GLVC) host Fort Hays State on Saturday, Dec. 16.
