Box Score Five players scored in double figures to lead Rockhurst to a 104-80 victory over Bethel College Saturday at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.
The Hawks went on a 40-15 run in the first half to take a 56-46 halftime lead. Rockhurst opened the second half on a 17-1 run to take a 25-point lead, 72-47, with 13:21 left to play.
Senior guard Travis House came off the bench to lead the Hawks with 17 points. Auston Rushing scored 14 points. Freshman Quinton Curry posted 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Alex Hagan collected 11 points and six rebounds. Curtis Lewis added 11 points, eight assists and five rebounds. Will Hrubes scored nine points and Connor Evans added eight rebounds.
"Credit to Bethel on how well they played out of the gate," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "We foul too much and need to fix that. I was happy to see multiple guys get in and play well on the offensive end.""
Rockhurst shot 52.1 percent from the field (37 of 71) and 56.7 percent from the foul line (17 of 30). Bethel made 26 of 61 field goals (42.6 percent) and 15 of 25 free throws (60.0 percent).
The Hawks (6-4) host Avila at noon on Monday, Dec. 18.
