Rockhurst shot 63.6 percent from the field in the second half in cruising to a 68-48 victory over Quincy in a conference opener Thursday night at RU's Mason-Halpin Field House.

The RU Hawks connected on 14 of 22 field goals in the final 20 minutes to finish with a 49.1 shooting percentage for the night (26 of 53). Rockhurst scored 30 points in the paint while Quincy was held to 12 points in the paint.

Rockhurst jumped out to a 30-21 halftime lead and outscored Quincy 38-27 in the second half. Madeline Ronshausen, Morgan Harwood and Rachel Holden combined for 21 points after halftime.

Jillian Myers led RU with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocked shots and two steals. Ronshausen posted 14 points, five assists and two steals. Harwood tallied 10 points and five rebounds.

The Hawks (5-2, 1-0 GLVC) host Maryville on Saturday at 1 p.m.
