Hawks are No. 4 seed in Midwest Region Crossover

The 10th annual Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover Tournament, the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament, will be held at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, Illinois on Oct. 13-14. The Rockhurst Hawks are the No. 4 seed from the GLVC and will play three matches over two days.

The Hawks (14-5, 6-3 GLVC) open play on Friday at 11:30 a.m. against second-seeded Northern Michigan (12-5, 6-3 GLIAC). Rockhurst will face fourth-seeded Wayne State (10-7, 6-3 GLIAC) at 5:30 pm on Friday and third-seeded Walsh (14-4, 8-2 GMAC) at 1 p.m.

The regional volleyball event will pit 15 Great Lakes Valley Conference teams, 12 institutions representing the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and nine programs from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

Rockhurst posted a 3-0 record at the 2016 Midwest Region Crossover in Aurora. The Hawks are 19-8 all-time at the Crossover.

The two-day tournament will feature 54 matches conducted on 10 courts throughout six sessions at one of the top volleyball facilities in the country. The event, designed to increase competition between teams from the three leagues in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region, has previously been held in Indianapolis, Indiana and Lansing, Michigan.
