Second-ranked Hawks drop first game of the season

Kaleb Jackson scored his eighth goal of the season in the second half.
Box Score The second-ranked Rockhurst Hawks dropped their first game of the season on Friday at Bellarmine. The Knights scored the first two goals of the game and held on for a 2-1 victory in Louisville, Kentucky.

Senior forward Kaleb Jackson cut Bellarmine's lead in half with a goal in the 65th minute. Jackson chipped a shot over the keeper's head from 20 yards off a pass from Ben McDonald to score his eighth goal of the season.

Bellarmine scored in the 11th minute and 58th minute to become the first team to score more than one goal against the Hawk this season.

Rockhurst outshot the Knights, 22-7. Adam Michel led the Hawks with eight shots and two shots on goal. Kaleb Jackson added seven shots and five shots on goal. Logan Feldmann made one save.

The Hawks, 11-1-2 and first in the GLVC at 10-1-1, play at second-place Indianapolis on Sunday.
