Rockhurst drained a season-high 15 three-point shots, but could not overcome torrid free-throw shooting by Southern Indiana as the Hawks suffered an 84-79 loss Saturday in Evansville, Indiana.

The Screaming Eagles (12-2, 4-0 GLVC) connected on 33-of-39 free throws, while the Hawks were limited to six-of-11 foul shooting. Southern Indiana made 20-of-23 foul shots in the second half and 12-of-14 free throws in the fourth period.

Five different players made three-point shots as the Hawks (8-4, 3-2 GLVC) connected on 15-of-30 shots from behind the three-point arc. Marisa Lowe scored a career-high 30 points as she dropped home six three-pointers. Lowe also posted eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Rockhurst trailed 38-34 at halftime after jumping out to a 29-25 lead in the second period. Southern Indiana improved its lead to 59-49 after three periods.

Mary Dineen finished with 18 points, three assists and two steals. Jillian Myers tallied 11 points, four rebounds and three steals. Dineen and Myers each made three three-pointers. Maddy Grennes added eight points off the bench.

Rockhurst shot 40.8 percent from the field (29 of 71), while the Eagles made 24-of-65 field goals (36.9 percent). Kaydie Grooms led USI with 22 points.

The Hawks return home to host McKendree on Thursday night.
