Hawks return to GLVC action at No. 4 Bellarmine

Marisa Lowe ranks ranks 12th in 3-point field goals made in the GLVC.
The Rockhurst Hawks (8-2, 3-0 GLVC) return to conference action today against the fourth-ranked Bellarmine Knights (10-1, 2-0 GLVC) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference inter-division matchup at 4:45 p.m. (CST) in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Knights won their last meeting, 85-77, at Rockhurst on Jan. 9, 2016. Bellarmine has won the last six meetings and leads the all-time series, 8-3.

Senior guard Mary Dineen leads the Hawks in scoring (19.2, third in the GLVC). Dineen also ranks fifth in free throw percentage (.809), ninth in 3-point field goals made (2.0), ninth in field goal percentage (43.2), 10th in 3-point field goal percentage (32.3) and 25th in assists (2.3) in the GLVC. The preseason All-American has scored 1,454 points in her career at Rockhurst.

Junior guard Jillian Myers ranks fifth in steals (2.3), eighth in assists (3.6) and 14th in blocked shots (1.0) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward Marisa Lowe is 12th in 3-point field goals made (1.8), 22nd in blocked shots (0.7) and 35th in points (9.7) in the GLVC. Freshman center Rachel Holden and senior center Haleigh Cindrich both rank in the top 10 in the GLVC in blocked shots.

Rockhurst leads the GLVC in 3-point field goals made (7.7), field goal percentage defense (36.8) and blocked shots (5.3). The Hawks also rank third in free throw percentage (75.1), fourth in scoring margin (15.6), fourth in scoring offense (74.9) and fourth in rebounding margin (8.5) in the GLVC.

The Hawks improved their winning streak to six in a row with a 93-65 victory at Oklahoma Panhandle State on Dec. 10. Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 19 points, three assists and three steals. Madeline Ronshausen posted 18 points, three assists and two steals. Marisa Lowe tallied 10 points and six rebounds. Morgan Harwood tallied eight points and five rebounds. Jillian Myers added seven points, three assists and three steals. Rockhurst shot 48.4 percent from the field and 72.4 percent from the foul line.
