Hawks host Maryville in GLVC West matchup

Jillian Myers ranks fourth in steals and ninth in assists in the GLVC.
The Rockhurst Hawks (12-5, 7-3 GLVC) host the Maryville Saints (8-9. 4-6 GLVC) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division matchup at 1 p.m. today.

The Saints won their last meeting at Maryville, 68-62, on Jan. 28, 2016. Maryville leads the all-time series, 10-1.

The Hawks are currently in second place in the GLVC West Division. Senior guard Mary Dineen ranks second in scoring (18.9), 13th in 3-point field goals made (1.8) and sixth in free throw percentage (84.0) in the GLVC. The preseason All-American ranks 11th among active Division II players with 1,584 career points.

Junior guard Jillian Myers is fourth in steals (2.7), ninth in assists (3.4) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.2) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward Marisa Lowe ranks 18th in scoring (12.4), third in 3-point field goals made (2.5) and 10th in 3-point field percentage (40.4) in the GLVC. Freshman guard Madeline Ronshausen is 11th in 3-point field goal percentage (40.0) in the GLVC. Freshman center Rachel Holden ranks fourth in blocked shots (1.4) in the GLVC.

Rockhurst ranks second in 3-point field goals made (7.9), second in 3-point field goal percentage defense (27.8), third in field goal percentage defense (36.8), fourth in scoring offense (73.4), fourth in blocked shots (4.4), fifth in free throw percentage (73.1) and fifth in scoring margin (7.9) in the GLVC.

Mary Dineen scored 24 points to lead Rockhurst to a 78-71 victory over Missouri-St. Louis Thursday night at Mason-Halpin. The Hawks never trailed in the game. Rockhurst shot 45.3 percent from the field and 64.7 percent at the free-throw line. Marisa Lowe posted 14 points and six rebounds. Jillian Myers collected 12 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals. Morgan Harwood added 10 points and five rebounds.

The Saints are coming off a 56-47 victory at William Jewell Thursday night. Sophomore guard Mary Barton led Maryville with 19 points and four rebounds. Barton leads the team in scoring (12.1). Senior center Alex Wolf ranks fourth in rebounding (8.0) in the GLVC. Junior guard Ali Ringering ranks first in 3-point field goal percentage (50.0) and 10th in 3-point field goals made (1.9) in the GLVC. The Saints lead the GLVC in scoring defense (57.9). Collin Lanam is in his first season as the head coach at Maryville.
