Rockhurst scored 47 points in the first half in cruising to a 70-60 victory over McKendree Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks (9-4, 4-2 GLVC) jumped out to a 25-14 lead after the first period. Rockhurst went into halftime with a 47-29 lead behind 50 percent shooting (15-of-30). After three periods, the Hawks widened their lead to 24 points (63-39). McKendree outscored Rockhurst 21-7 in the fourth period.

Marisa Lowe led the Hawks with 16 points on six-of-nine shooting. Madeline Ronshausen came off the bench to post 13 points and four rebounds. Kaci German collected 11 points and five rebounds. Lauren Krissman tallied nine points and four rebounds. Mary Dineen finished with eight points and five rebounds.

Rockhurst shot 41.7 percent from the field (25 of 60), while the Bearcats (9-6, 0-5 GLVC) made 23-of-60 field goals (38.3 percent).

The Hawks host Illinois Springfield on Saturday afternoon (noon tipoff).
