Box Score Colorado Mesa spoiled Rockhurst's final home game of the season, holding off the Hawks for a 15-9 victory in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game Saturday at Bourke Field.
Rockhurst scored eight unanswered goals to pull within one goal of Mesa, 9-8, early in the fourth period. Mesa scored the next six goals to take a seven-goal lead with 1:32 left to play.
Michael Beckham led the Hawks with three goals and two assists.
Mason Pomeroy collected two goals and one assist.
Christian Schveninger scored two goals.
Jake Martin added one goal and one assist.
Ian Meister won 21-of-28 faceoffs. Beckham tallied seven ground balls.
Alex Pfeil posted 12 saves.
Rockhurst outshot Mesa 47-41. Beckham led the Hawks with 13 shots. Martin added six shots.
The Hawks (9-7, 3-5 RMAC) will play in the RMAC Tournament on Friday in Grand Junction, Colorado.
