Rockhurst women meet 12-8 Parkside Rangers

The Rockhurst Hawks (12-8, 5-7 GLVC) will meet the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers (12-8, 6-6 GLVC) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference inter-divisional matchup at 1 p.m. Saturday (February 6) in Somers, Wisconsin.

The Rangers won their last meeting, 70-51, last season at Rockhurst. Parkside leads the all-time series, 9-0.

Junior guard Mary Dineen leads the Hawks in scoring (17.8, fifth in the GLVC). Dineen also ranks third in 3-point field goals made (2.8), third in 3-point field goal percentage (49.1) and third in free throw percentage (88.1) in the GLVC. Dineen has 1,102 career points. Senior forward Lauren Meyers stands 20th in scoring (11.7) and 17th in rebounding (6.0) in the GLVC. Meyers has 1,009 career points.

Sophomore guard Jillian Myers ranks first in steals (3.25), first in assist/turnover ratio and sixth in assists (4.15) in the GLVC. Freshman forward Marisa Lowe ranks second in 3-point field goals made (2.9) and seventh in 3-point field goals percentage (43.4) Junior center Haleigh Cindrich ranks third in blocked shots (1.65) in the GLVC. Rockhurst ranks first in 3-point field goals made, first in blocked shots, second in turnover margin and second in free throw percentage in the GLVC.

Rockhurst battled eighth-ranked Lewis to the end before falling to the Flyers, 81-78, Thursday night at Lewis. The Hawks connected on 14 three-pointers but needed a 15th trey in the final seconds to force overtime. Mary Dineen barely missed a game-tying 3-point shot on the last play of the game. Marisa Lowe led the Hawks with 20 points on six-of-nine shooting from behind the 3-point line. Lauren Meyers posted 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Dineen scored 14 points on five-of-17 shooting.

The Rangers are coming off a 67-64 loss at home to William Jewell Thursday night. Senior forward Kristin Conniff ranks 15th in scoring (12.7) and 10th in 3-point field goals made (1.95) in the GLVC.
