Box Score Rockhurst led Quincy for nearly 20 minutes, but could not hold the lead down the stretch in falling to the 23rd-ranked Lady Hawks, 72-69, Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.
Quincy overcame a seven-point deficit with 6:37 left to play to edge Rockhurst for the second time this season. A layup by Anika Webster gave Quincy a 70-69 lead with 1:17 left. Rockhurst missed two shots and turned the ball over in the final 62 seconds.
Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 22 points on eight-of-20 shooting, including four-of-eight shots from behind the 3-point line. Dineen's final three-pointer gave Rockhurst a 69-68 lead with 1:44 left.
Lauren Meyers posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Jillian Myers collected 15 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and seven steals.
Quincy made 26-of-52 field goals (50.0 percent) and 17-of-18 free throws. Webster paced Quincy with 25 points and seven rebounds.
Rockhurst, 13-11 and 6-10 in the GLVC, will host Truman State on Saturday (February 20).
