Rockhurst women host 23rd-ranked Quincy

Freshman Marisa Lowe ranks third in the GLVC in 3-point field goals made.
The Rockhurst Hawks (13-10, 6-9 GLVC) host the 23rd-ranked Quincy Lady Hawks (20-4, 11-4 GLVC) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division matchup at 5:15 p.m. Thursday (February 18) on Jam the Gym and Alumni Night in Mason-Halpin Field House.

Quincy posted a 67-66 victory over Rockhurst earlier this season at Quincy. Quincy leads the all-time series, 20-2.

Junior guard Mary Dineen ranks third in the GLVC and 35th in the nation on scoring (18.3). Dineen also ranks second in 3-point field goals made (2.9), third in free throw percentage (87.4) and fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (47.1) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Jillian Myers ranks first in steals (3.1), third in assist/turnover ratio and sixth in assists (4.2) in the GLVC.

Senior forward Lauren Meyers stands 18th in scoring (12.0), 15th in rebounding (6.1) and 10th in blocks (1.2) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward Marisa Lowe ranks third in 3-point field goals made (2.8) and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (42.2) in the GLVC. Junior center Haleigh Cindrich ranks third in blocked shots (1.6) in the conference.

Rockhurst leads the GLVC in 3-point field goals made (9.4, sixth nationally), free throw percentage (76.7, 15th nationally) and blocked shots (4.6, 26th nationally).

Rockhurst suffered 77-69 loss to Saint Joseph's Saturday at Mason-Halpin. Saint Joseph's made 13-of-16 free throws in the final period to hold off the Hawks. Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 27 points and five assists. Dineen hit eight-of-16 shots, including five-of-10 shots from behind the 3-point line. Lauren Meyers posted 16 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Marisa Lowe scored nine points on three 3-point field goals. Jillian Myers collected five points, five rebounds and five steals.

Quincy is coming off a 70-67 victory at home over Wisconsin-Parkside last Saturday. Senior guard Maggie Cunningham led Quincy with 21 points. Cunningham ranks 17th in scoring (12.3), third in assists (4.9), sixth in steals (2.25) and fourth in free throw percentage (85.7) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward Anika Webster (11.8) and senior forward Kara Gerbus (10.9) both rank among the top 30 scorers in the GLVC. Jeni Garber is in her fifth season as Quincy's head coach.
