Hawks return home to face Indianapolis

The Rockhurst Hawks (12-9, 5-8 GLVC) host the Indianapolis Greyhounds (6-17, 4-9 GLVC) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference cross divisional matchup at 5:15 p.m. Thursday (February 11) at Mason-Halpin Field House.

Indianapolis posted a 60-52 victory at Rockhurst last season. The Greyhounds lead the all-time series, 9-1.

Junior guard Mary Dineen ranks fifth in scoring (18.1), second in 3-point field goals made (2.8), third in free throw percentage (87.1) and fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (48.0) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Jillian Myers ranks first in steals (3.1), second in assist/turnover ratio and sixth in assists (4.2) in the GLVC. Senior forward Lauren Meyers stands 21st in scoring (11.5) and 16th in rebounding (6.0) in the GLVC. Dineen and Myers recently surpassed 1,000 career points.

Sophomore forward Marisa Lowe ranked third in 3-point field goals made (2.9) and seventh in 3-point field goal percentage (42.7) in the GLVC. Junior center Haleigh Cindrich ranks third in blocked shots (1.6) in the conference. Rockhurst leads the GLVC in 3-point field goals made (9.1), free throw percentage (76.2) and blocked shots (4.5). The Hawks also rank fourth in turnover margin and assist/turnover ratio, and fifth in field goal percentage defense (36.4) in the GLVC.

Wisconsin-Parkside held Rockhurst to six points in the fourth quarter to rally a 64-58 victory over the Hawks last Saturday Wisconsin. Dineen led the Hawks with 24 points. Meyers posted seven points and seven rebounds. Myers collected six points, four rebounds and five assists. Cindrich added six points and seven rebounds. Rockhurst shot 39.1 percent from the field on 18-of-46 shooting. The Hawks hit eight-of-20 shots from three-point range.

The Greyhounds are coming off a 53-46 loss at home to Truman State last Saturday. Senior guard Princess German led Indianapolis with 32 points. German leads the GLVC in scoring (21.0) and ranks sixth in the 3-point field goals made (2.3) in the GLVC. Junior forward Nicole Anderson ranks 11th in scoring (14.1) and seventh in rebounding (7.3) in the GLVC. Constantin Popa is in his fifth season as UIndy's head coach.
