Box Score Rockhurst rallied to score the last 10 points of the game to pull out a 70-68 victory over Indianapolis Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.
The win gives the Hawks 13 wins in a season for the first time since the 2000-01 season. The six conference wins is also an all-time high for the RU women since joining the Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2005-06. The Hawks, 13-9 and 6-8 in the GLVC, host Saint Joseph's on Saturday (February 13).
Rockhurst trailed 68-60 with two minutes left to play. The Hawks scored seven points in 29 seconds to pull with one point of the Greyhounds with 1:22 left on the clock. Mary Dineen made two free throws and hit a 3-pointer, while Lauren Meyers sank a pair of free throws. Jillian Myers made two free throws with 35 second left to give Rockhurst its first lead since the first quarter. Dineen added a free throw with one second left.
Meyers led the Hawks with 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Marisa Lowe scored 17 points on six-of-11 shooting. Dineen posted 15 points and four assists. Myers finished with eight points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals. Haleigh Cindrich added eight points, four rebounds and two blocks.
Rockhurst shot 46.2Â percent from the field on 24-of-52Â shooting and 81.8Â percent at the foul line (9Â of 11). The Hawks outrebounded the Greyhounds, 27-26.
Indianapolis made 26-of-49 field goals (53.1 percent) and 9-of-16 free throws (56.3 percent). Princess German paced the Greyhounds with 25 points.
