Hawks host Rogers State Hillcats

The Rockhurst Hawks (4-4) host the Rogers State Hillcats (6-2) in a non-conference matchup at 3 p.m. today. Rogers State is located in Claremore, Oklahoma, and is a member of the Heartland Conference. This is the first meeting between the two schools.

Junior forward Alex Hagan leads the Hawks in scoring (16.7) and rebounding (7.0), but has missed the last five games. Junior forward Kaleb Warner (14.5) and junior guard Travis House (10.9) are also averaging in double figures. Sophomore forward Connor Evans ranks eighth in field goal percentage (62.8) in the GLVC. Junior center Gabe Brown leads the GLVC and ranks 13th in the nation in blocked shots (2.6). House ranks seventh in 3-point field goals made (2.9) in the GLVC.

House scored a season-high 22 points to lead Rockhurst to an 83-77 victory over William Jewell Wednesday at Mason-Halpin. House connected on six-of-10 field goals, including five-of-eight three-pointers. Evans finished with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists. Undra Wilson tallied 11 points and four assists. Warner came off the bench to score 10 points. Mason Loewen posted eight points and seven rebounds. Brown added six points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots. Rockhurst shot 51.9 percent from the field and 43.3 percent on three-point field goals.

Rogers State is coming off a 91-69 victory at home over St. Gregory's on Wednesday. Senior forward Jeylyn Sharpe led Rogers State with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Senior guard JD Tisdale tallied 16 points and six assists. Sharpe leads the Hillcats in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (7.5). Sharpe ranks eighth in scoring and sixth in rebounding in the Heartland Conference. Tisdale ranks 10th in scoring in the Heartland. Justin Barkley is in his seventh season as the head coach and has a 126-55 record.
