Rockhurst falls in NCAA Regional opener

Box Score The Rockhurst volleyball season ended with a first-round loss to Saginaw Valley State in the NCAA Midwest Regional Thursday night in Big Rapids, Mich.

The 22nd-ranked Hawks lost in straight sets, 25-16, 25-18 and 26-24. Rockhurst posted a season-low .056 hitting percentage, while Saginaw Valley State hit .206.

Morgan Rietzke led the Hawks (27-7) with nine kills and 12 digs. Alyssa Woodman posted nine kills and seven digs.

Anne Hellwege collected a team-high 15 digs. Lily Thornberg and Grace Carter combined for 23 assists.
