Rockhurst women host Truman in GLVC opener

The Rockhurst Hawks (4-2) host the Truman State Bulldogs (4-3) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference opener for both schools today at 5:30 p.m. Truman State won their last meeting, 65-55, last season at Rockhurst. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series, 12-4.

Rockhurst senior guard Mary Dineen leads the GLVC in scoring (19.5) and ranks ninth in free throw percentage (79.3) in the conference. Jillian Myers ranks eighth in assists (3.7) and is tied for 10th in steals (2.0) in the GLVC. Freshman center Rachel Holden ranks second in blocked shots (1.5) in the GLVC.

Thirteen players broke into the scoring column to lead Rockhurst to an 83-37 victory over Central Christian at home last Saturday. Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 13 points. Freshman Madeline Ronschausen posted 12 points and six assists. Kaci German tallied 11 points and eight rebounds. Rachel Holden collected 10 points and 10 rebounds. Haleigh Cindrich added seven points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Bulldogs moved their record to 4-3 with a 94-49 victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State in the Drury Thanksgiving Classic last Saturday in Springfield, Mo. Senior center Cassidy Clark led Truman with 18 points and eight rebounds. Junior forward Ashley Hartwig posted 18 points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward Rachel Edmundson leads the Bulldogs in scoring (13.9). Clark is averaging 13.0 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds per game.
