Hawks rally for 72-67 win over Truman State

Mary Dineen led the Hawks 20 points, including five in the fourth period.

Rockhurst rallied in the second half to post a 72-67 conference-opening victory over Truman State Thursday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks outscored Truman State 17-10 in the fourth period. Mary Dineen and Marisa Lowe combined for nine points as Rockhurst made six-of-12 field goals in the final 10 minutes.

Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 20 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Jillian Myers posted 12 points and five steals. Kaci German tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots. Lowe finished with 10 points.

Rockhurst shot 43.8 percent from the field (24 of 64) and 100.0 percent from the foul line (nine of nine). Truman State made 27-of-64 field goals (42.2 percent) and 10-of-19 free throws (52.6 percent). Cassidy Clark paced the Bulldogs with 23 points and eight rebounds.

The Hawks (5-2, 1-0 GLVC) will host Quincy on Saturday (December 3).
