Hawks cruise at home to 84-50 victory over Avila

Rockhurst jumped out to an insurmountable lead in the first half in cruising to an 84-50 victory over Avila Friday night at Mason-Halpin Field House.

The Hawks led 26-4 after the first period and took a 48-11 lead into halftime. Marisa Lowe scored 19 points in the first half while hitting five three-point baskets.

Lowe led the Hawks (3-2) with 21 points on eight-of-12 field goal shooting. Mary Dineen and Morgan Harwood each posted 10 points and four rebounds. Briahtia Sebek tallied nine points. Jillian Myers collected seven assists and four steals. Kaci German had a team-high seven rebounds. Lauren Krissman and Mary Leigh Rock added six rebounds apiece.

Rockhurst shot 42.0 percent from the field (29 of 69) and 65.2 percent from the foul line (15 of 23). Avila made 17-of-54 field goals (31.5 percent) and 12-of-19 free throws (63.2 percent). Raven Bunn paced the Eagles with 20 points.
