Hawks suffer road loss at Wayne State

Rockhurst dropped its first game of the season, falling 58-45 to Wayne State Friday night in Wayne, Neb.

Wayne State outscored the Hawks 19-6 in the third period to take a 40-26 lead into the final period. Rockhurst outscored the Wildcats 19-18 in the fourth period.

Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 17 points on six-of-18 field goal shooting. Jillian Myers posted seven points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Rachel Holden and Kaci German each grabbed six rebounds.

Rockhurst (2-1) shot 25.4 percent from the field (16 of 63) and 22.2 percent on 3-point shots (four of 18). Wayne State made 19-of-54 field goals (35.2 percent) and four-of-18 three-pointers (23.5 percent). Anna Martenson paced the Wildcats with 15 points.
