Road loss drops Rockhurst into tie for first place

Box Score Rockhurst allowed a season-high three goals in falling to Missouri S&T 3-1 on Sunday in Rolla, Missouri.

The loss drops the fifth-ranked Hawks into a tie for first place with Missouri S&T in the Great Lakes Valley Conference at 11-2-1 record with one game left in the regular season.

Missouri S&T scored two goals in the first 14 minutes. Brian O'Neal got the Hawks on the board with an 18-yard shot in the 37th minute for this third goal of the season.
The Miners added an insurance goal in the 85th minute.

The Hawks finished with 20 shots and five shots on goal. Gianluca Bottoni led Rockhurst with five shots. O'Neal, Mitch Moncada and Filippo Santandrea each collected three shots. Logan Feldmann made four saves for the Hawks.

Rockhurst, 13-2-1 overall, closes out the regular season at William Jewell on Wednesday, October 26.
