The Rockhurst Hawks (6-5, 1-2 GLVC) host the 11th-ranked Bellarmine Knights (10-2, 3-0 GLVC) for the first time in two years at 3 p.m. Saturday (January 9). Bellarmine defeated the Hawks, 73-56, last year at Bellarmine. The Knights lead the all-time series, 7-4.

"Bellarmine has a great team," said Rockhurst coach Drew Diener. "They are playing well. They gave great size and skill. It will be another challenge for our program."

Senior forward Dominique Washington leads the Hawks in scoring (18.3). Junior guard Malachi Nix ranks first in assists (5.6), seventh in minutes played (32.3), tied for 10th in steals (1.55) and 18th in scoring (13.9) in the GLVC. Freshman guard Austin LeVan ranks 13th in scoring (15.9), tied for second in 3-point field goals made (3.2) and tied for second in free throw percentage (90.9) in the GLVC. Sophomore forward Alex Hagan stands second in field goal percentage (66.7) and tied for 13th in rebounding (6.0) in the GLVC. Junior forward Adam Fatkin is tied for 11th in field goal percentage (56.0) in the GLVC.

Rockhurst rallied from a 20-point deficit in the first half only to fall short in dropping its conference home opener to Southern Indiana, 79-71, Thursday night at Mason-Halpin. The Hawks outscored the Eagles 50-43 in the second half. Dominique Washington led the Hawks with 23 points and seven rebounds. Austin LeVan scored 17 points while hitting five-of-12 three-point shots. Malachi Nix posted 15 points, five rebounds, seven assists and two steals. John Burke grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

The Knights are coming off a 90-59 victory at William Jewell Thursday night. Sophomore guard Brent Bach led Bellarmine with 16 points. Junior guard Rusty Troutman leads the Knights in scoring (20.0, third in GLVC). Senior forward George Suggs is the GLVC leader in blocked shots (1.83).
