Dineen leads Hawks to 66-63 victory at UMSL

Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 25 points and five assists.

Mary Dineen scored 25 points to lead Rockhurst to a 66-63 victory over Missouri-St. Louis Saturday in St. Louis.

Dineen made four free throws in the final 26 seconds to hold off a late UMSL rally. Dineen finished 10-of-12 at the foul line while shooting six-of-13 from the field. She also led the Hawks with five assists.

Rockhurst led 33-29 at halftime as Dineen and Marisa Lowe combined for 22 points in the first half. The Hawks took a 51-44 lead going in the fourth quarter.

Lowe posted 15 points on five-of-nine 3-point shots. Haleigh Cindrich collected 10 points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Jillian Myers had seven points and three steals. Lauren Meyers added six points, five rebounds and four blocks.

Rockhurst shot 37.7 percent from the field on 20-of-53 shooting. The Hawks made 12-of-20 shots from 3-point range. Dineen and Cindrich each made three treys.

UMSL made 24-of-66 field goals (36.4 percent). Jordan Fletcher paced the Tritons with 24 points and 13 rebounds.

The Hawks, 12-7 and 5-6 in the GLVC, play at Lewis on Thursday (February 4).
