Hawks hope to extend winning streak over S&T

Freshman Marisa Lowe ranks fourth in 3-point field goals made in the GLVC.
The Rockhurst Hawks (10-6, 3-5 GLVC) host the Missouri S&T Lady Miners (6-9, 2-6 GLVC) in their lone meeting of the season at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mason-Halpin Field House. The Hawks have won their last four meetings over the past two seasons. The Lady Miners lead the all-time series, 19-6.

Junior guard Mary Dineen leads the Hawks in scoring (17.5). Dineen ranks fourth in scoring, third in 3-point field goals made (2.75), second in free throw percentage (88.1) and sixth in 3-point field goal percentage (45.8) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Jillian Myers ranks first in steals (3.1), third in assist/turnover ratio and fifth in assists (4.2) in the GLVC. Senior forward Lauren Meyers stands 20th in scoring (12.1) in the GLVC. Freshman forward Marisa Lowe ranks fourth in 3-point field goals (2.5) and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (41.7) in the GLVC. Junior center Haleigh Cindrich ranks second in blocked shots (1.7) in the conference.

Rockhurst ranks first in 3-point field goals made (8.75) and blocked shots (4.6), second in turnover margin, third in free throw percentage (75.1), fourth in field goal percentage defense (36.4) and fourth in steals (4.1) in the GLVC.

Rockhurst suffered an 82-64 loss at home to 19th-ranked Drury Thursday night. Mary Dineen led the Hawks with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Lauren Meyers posted her first double-double of the season with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Marisa Lower scored 12 points behind four-of-six three-pointers. Jillian Myers collected eight points, four rebounds and four assists. Haleigh Cindrich added seven rebounds and five blocks. Rockhurst shot 35.1 percent from the field on 20-of-57 shooting and 83.3 percent at the foul line (15 of 18).

The Lady Miners are coming off a 71-62 victory at William Jewell Thursday night. Junior guard Raetchel Gray led S&T with 15 points. Bria Pierce leads S&T in scoring (11.4, 22nd in GLVC), and ranks 12th in assists (3.3) and 19th in rebounding (5.6) in the GLVC. Junior forward Jamy Douvier ranks 19th in rebounds (7.1) and 10th in field goal percentage (51.3) in the GLVC.
