Hawks host 19th-ranked Drury Lady Panthers

The Rockhurst Hawks (10-5, 3-4 GLVC) host the 19th-ranked Drury Lady Panthers (12-3, 5-2 GLVC) in their lone meeting of the season at 5:15 p.m. today at Mason-Halpin Field House. Drury defeated the Hawks, 71-68, in their last meeting at Drury last year. The Lady Panthers have won the last 29 meetings and lead the all-time series, 29-1.

Junior guard Mary Dineen leads the Hawks in scoring (17.5). Dineen ranks fourth in scoring, second in 3-point field goals made (2.7), fifth in free throw percentage (87.3) and sixth in 3-point field goal percentage (45.6) in the GLVC. Sophomore guard Jillian Myers ranks first in steals (3.2), third in assist/turnover ratio and fifth in assists (4.2) in the GLVC. Senior forward Lauren Meyers stands 20th in scoring (11.9) in the GLVC. Junior center Haleigh Cindrich is tied for third in blocked shots (1.5) in the conference. Rockhurst ranks first in 3-point field goals made (8.7), second in turnover margin, third in field goal percentage defense (35.7) and third in 3-point field goal percentage (27.7) in the GLVC.

Rockhurst suffered a 68-49 loss at William Jewell Monday night. Jewell held the Hawks to 29.5 percent shooting (18 of 61 field goals). Rockhurst also struggled from behind the  3-point line, hitting eight of 30 for 26.7 percent. Dineen joined the 1,000-point club in leading the Hawks with 15 points on five-of-17 field goal shooting. Dineen has scored 1,009 points in less than three seasons at Rockhurst. Marisa Lowe scored 12 points behind four-of-seven three-pointers. Myers collected five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Meyers posted a team-high six rebounds. Morgan Harwood and Brittany Meyer each had three steals.

The Lady Panthers are coming off a 77-73 victory over Saint Joseph's last Saturday. Senior guard Annie Armstrong led Drury with 17 points and five assists. Armstrong leads Drury in scoring (15.4, 10th in GLVC) and ranks first in the GLVC in free throw percentage (94.3). Junior guard Alice Heinzler ranks seconds in steals (2.9) and third in 3-point field goals made (2.5) in the GLVC. Molly Miller is in her second season as Drury's head coach.
