Box Score Rockhurst suffered its worst shooting night of the season in falling to William Jewell 68-49 Monday night in Liberty, Missouri.
Jewell held the Hawks to 29.5 percent shooting (18 of 61 field goals). Rockhurst also struggled from behind the 3-point line, hitting eight of 30 for 26.7 percent.
The Hawks fell behind 24-15 after the first quarter and trailed 37-25 at halftime. The Cardinals outscored Rockhurst 20-8 in the third quarter and led by 28 points early in the fourth quarter.
Mary Dineen joined the 1,000-point club in leading the Hawks with 15 points on five-of-17 field goal shooting. Dineen has scored 1,009 points in less than three seasons at Rockhurst.
Marisa Lowe scored 12 points behind four-of-seven three-pointers. Jillian Myers collected five rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Lauren Meyers posted a team-high six rebounds. Morgan Harwood and Brittany Meyer each had three steals.
Jewell made 24-of-65 field goals (36.9 percent) and 12-of-14 free throws (85.7 percent). Maddie Nelson paced the Cardinals with 14 points and 17 rebounds. The Cardinals also outrebounded the Hawks, 55-29.
The Hawks, 10-5 and 3-4 in the GLVC, return home to host Drury on Thursday (January 21).
