Prairie Stars up next for Rockhurst

The Rockhurst Hawks (8-4, 1-3 GLVC) meet the Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars (5-7, 0-5 GLVC) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday (January 14) in Springfield, Illinois. The Prairie Stars won their last meeting, 63-60, at Springfield on Feb. 14, 2015. Illinois Springfield leads the all-time series, 6-4.

Junior guard Mary Dineen leads the Hawks in scoring (17.8, fourth in the GLVC). Dineen also ranks second in 3-point field goals made (2.92), fourth in 3-point field goal percentage (4.79) and sixth in free throw percentage (88.1) in the GLVC. Senior forward Lauren Meyers stands 15th in scoring (12.8), tied for 12th in steals (1.83) and tied for 15th in 3-point field goals made (1.42) in the GLVC. Dineen and Meyers are both closing in on the 1,000-point club. Dineen has scored 960 career points and Meyers currently has 929 career points.

Sophomore guard Jillian Myers ranks first in steals (3.42), fifth in assists (4.42) and fifth in assist/turnover ratio in the GLVC. Junior center Haleigh Cindrich is third in blocked shots (1.5) in the GLVC. Rockhurst ranks first in 3-point field goals made (8.5) , first in turnover margin. third in steals (9.92) and third in blocked shots (3.92) in the GLVC.

The Hawks are coming off a 93-46 victory at home over Central Christian (Kan.) College Monday night. Dineen led the Hawks with 14 points, four assists and five steals. Meyers posted 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Freshman Kaci German tallied 12 points and 12 rebounds. Freshmen Briahtia Sebek, Brittany Meyer and Marisa Lowe combined for 31 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. The Hawks shot 43.6 percent from the field and 94.1 percent from the free-throw line.
