Box Score Adams State scored five goals in the fourth period to rally past Rockhurst, 12-11, Thursday at Bourke Field.
The Hawks jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the second period behind three goals from
Jake Martin. Adams State scored three unanswered goals to cut Rockhurst's lead to 7-5 at halftime.
Adams State took its first lead of the game at 10-9 with 5:33 left in the game. The Hawks tied it up 42 seconds later. The Grizzlies scored two goals in the next 1:19 to take a 12-10 lead. Martin's goal made it a one-goal game with 35 seconds left.
Martin led the Hawks with five goals.
Michael Beckham scored six points on one goal and five assists.
Blake Foerster added three points on two goals and one assist.
The Hawks outshot Adams State 48-36. Haviland paced the Hawks with eight shots.
Ian Meister collected a team-high seven ground balls and won 14 of 26 faceoffs.
Alex Pfeil posted 10 saves.
