Box Score Freshman Jake Martin scored six goals and assisted on two other goals to lead the Rockhurst men a season-opening 21-4 victory over Fontbonne Sunday at Bourke Field.

Martin tallied four goals in the first half to lead the Hawks to an 11-3 halftime lead. The Hawks added nine goals in the third period to take a 20-3 lead.

Freshman Michael Beckham collected four goals and five assists. Jake Hardin and Jack McDonough each finished with two goals. Ian Miester had a team-high 11 ground balls while winning 17 of 21 faceoffs. Zach McGuff and Alex Pfeil combined for six saves.

Rockhurst, 1-0, plays Dubuque (Iowa) on Feb. 21 in Des Moines, Iowa.
