Box Score Led once again by freshman duo attackers
Jake Martin and
Michael Beckham, the Hawks' offense soared in a decisive 23-6 victory over conference opponent Colorado State-Pueblo on a snowy Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo., at Bourke Field.
The Hawks, with the help of a major penalty to start the second quarter, were able to separate from the Thunderwolves by halftime with a score of 11-3. The Hawks never looked back and added on heavily in the third quarter by scoring eight more goals.
Martin led the Hawks by putting five goals in the back of the net while also dishing it once for an assist. Beckham was able to continue his streak as well by posting four goals and also adding one assist.
On defense, the Hawks saw a good performance from freshman
Mike Boehm who collected seven ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Ian Meister won 15-of-24 faceoffs and led the Hawks in ground balls with 10. The two-headed monster of freshman
Alex Pfeil and sophomore
Zach McGuff continued their success by posting a combined five saves.
